Local newspapers across Alaska reacted Saturday after their first-term governor was tapped to be John McCain’s running mate.
Editorials and articles from the state both raved that an Alaskan made history as the first Republican woman on a presidential ticket, and expressed concern that Gov. Sarah Palin could be viewed as inexperienced on the national stage.
At least one newspaper complained that the rest of the country, suffering from “cluelessness” about McCain’s pick, was getting the facts wrong on Palin’s biography.
