SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Gov. Rod Blagojevich's defense attorney attacked Illinois impeachment proceedings as "unfair and quite frankly illegal" in a clear signal that the Illinois governor, charged by federal prosecutors with public corruption, will not leave office without a fight.
