Add Mary Nichols , chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board, to the list of potential candidates for a top post in President-elect Barack Obama’s administration. She’s been widely talked about as a candidate to lead the Environmental Protection Agency in the Obama administration, and was in Washington this week to deliver a speech at a climate-change conference this week.
I have told representatives of the transition [team] who have asked me that question that I would be honored and delighted to be considered for the [Environmental Protection Agency] administrator position or to serve the administration in whatever way they think is most useful,” Nichols said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “I also feel theres a great deal that can and should be done with California in this new administration, and Im excited to work with them in whatever capacity.
