The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has scheduled the start of confirmation hearings for Secretary of State-designate Hillary Clinton for Jan. 13, the office of Sen. John Kerry announced today.
The committee will also begin holding confirmation hearings for Susan Rice , President-elect Barack Obama s nominee to be Washingtons new ambassador to the United Nations.
Kerry noted that he has called Clinton and Rice an extremely talented team and promised a fair and expeditious confirmation process.
