AP - Four years ago, Mark Udall ran for U.S. Senate from Colorado for 24 hours. He dropped out of the race in favor of the eventual winner, Ken Salazar. This year he stayed with it, and on Tuesday the 58-year-old Democratic congressman with a fine political pedigree defeated Republican Bob Schaffer for Colorado's open Senate seat.
