AP - Excerpts from recent newspaper endorsements of presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama. In endorsing McCain, the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune says the Republican "brings a lifetime of useful experience, including his grueling captivity in Vietnam and long Senate service." In its endorsement of Obama, the Kansas City Star calls the Democrat "a man of strength, empathy, energy and intelligence. (link)
