Election Day Snapshot: Henrico County, Va.

Corey Dade reports on the governor’s race in Virginia. Republicans have tried to paint the Virginia governor’s race as a referendum on President Barack Obama , but some voters didn’t see it that way. One Obama voter from 2008 summed it up this way: Democrat Creigh Deeds ran a flawed campaign, unlike his GOP rival, Bob McDonnell . “McDonnell was a better candidate,” said Jerome Glover , an African-American who is a carpenter from the Richmond suburb of Henrico County. “Deeds didn’t carry himself too well, like he was hiding something or wasn’t sure what he wants to do. I didn’t trust him.” Henrico is a Republican-leaning county, but Obama won it last year. Throughout the campaign, Deeds attacked McDonnell as an arch conservative rather than spelling out his vision for Virginia.
