Chicago voters have no shortage of candidates to choose from in todays primary election to fill the House seat vacated by former Rep. Rahm Emanuel , who became President Barack Obama s chief of staff.
A dozen Democrats, six Republicans, and five Green Party candidates appear on todays ballot, although the Democrat who wins today will be heavily favored to win the April 7 general election in this heavily Democratic district covering Chicago’s North Side.
Among the Democrats vying for the seat are Cook Country Commissioner Mike Quigley , who was endorsed by both the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times, as well Alderman Patrick OConnor , and Illinois state House Reps. John Fritchey and Sara Feigenholtz .
