Gallup Poll: Obama, Clinton Most Admired Americans

President-elect Barack Obama is the most admired man in America while former presidential rival Hillary Clinton is the most admired woman, according to a Gallup poll released today .
The polling outfit said it is a rare distinction for a president-elect to reach the top spot–Obama is the first president-elect since Dwight Eisenhower in 1952 to top the list. However, this is Clintons seventh consecutive year as the most admired woman.
Nearly one-third, 32%, of Americans identified Obama as the man they most admire in the world, a remarkable number, according to Gallup. One-fifth, 20%, named Clinton among the list of women.
On the mens list, the second place showing at just 5% is President George W. Bush , who once topped the list at 39% following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Obamas current performance is better than either former Presidents George H.W. Bush or Bill Clinton ever received.
