Geithner has made amends for tax errors: White House

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama believes Timothy Geithner is uniquely qualified to lead the U.S. Treasury Department and has made amends for his tax mistakes by paying what he owes with interest, the White House said on Monday.
