McAuliffe up with first TV ad

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro Terry McAuliffe is getting an early jump on the 2009 Virginia campaign for governor with his first TV ad. In the ad called "Listened," McAuliffe stresses protecting and creating jobs and makes an outside-of-Richmond pitch. "It goes to show the best ideas don't always come out of Richmond," McAuliffe says. Among his ideas, he says at the top of the ad: "Make our ports more competitive. Invest in renewable energy to create jobs. Keep our carriers here in Virginia where they belong." The former Democratic National Committee chairman and Clinton fundraiser also bills himself as having "spent four decades building businesses and creating jobs.
