McCain Camp Mocks Obama’s Infomercial

 
Susan Davis reports on the presidential race. John McCain ’s campaign is responding to Barack Obama ’s 30-minute infomercial set to air nationally tonight with its own 30-second ad, “TV Special,” which will also aiir nationally. Using clips of Obama and his massive campaign crowds, the voice-over states, “Behind the fancy speeches, grand promises and TV special, lies the truth: With crises at home and abroad, Barack Obama lacks the experience America needs. And it shows. His response to our economic crisis is to spend and tax our economy deeper into recession. The fact is Barack Obama’s not ready yet.” In an email briefing to reporters this morning, a McCain aide also quipped, “If infomercials were a winning campaign strategy, Billy Mays would be President of the United States and every American would own Mighty Putty or Oxi Clean.” The Obama campaign gave the New York Times a preview of the 30 second commercial that will air at 8 p.m. EDT tonight on all the ...
