Susan Davis reports on the presidential race.
The latest Quinnipiac survey shows that John McCain has closed the gap against rival Barack Obama in the key battleground states of Florida and Ohio, but Obama maintains a comfortable lead in Pennsylvania where McCain campaigned as recently as this week in an effort to turn that blue state red.
Obama leads 47%-45% in Florida, a narrower edge than the five point advantage he had less than a week ago. Obama maintains a healthy nine point advantage in Ohio as well, 51%-42%, but McCain has also closed the gap in the Buckeye State where Obama led by 14 points a week ago.
In Pennsylvania, however, Obama maintains a 53%-41% lead, virtually unchanged from the week before. The polls, conducted Oct. 22-26, have a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6-2.7 percentage points.
