John McCain’s campaign staffers are heading out of Denver as the Arizona senator prepares to notify his running-mate of his decision by the end of Thursday and appear together Friday in Dayton, Ohio.
McCain had previously indicated that he would announce his running mate on Friday, but sources close to his campaign told FOX News that his decision could be made public even sooner. A McCain aide, speaking on condition of anonymity said McCain may announce his choice on Thursday — the same day Barack Obama will accept the Democratic nomination at Invesco Field in Denver, Colo.
And the same names are still in the mix. Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts governor, was at the Democratic National Convention in Denver Tuesday bashing Obama and is at the top of the list along with Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Pawlenty will be in Denver swiping at Obama Thursday and picking up the audition where Romney left off.
