McCain Jumps on Biden’s (or Obama’s) Remarks

 
Elizabeth Holmes reports from Belton, Mo., on the presidential race. John McCain rarely sticks to his script. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it hurts. Monday evening it did a little bit of both. The Republican presidential nominee twice named Barack Obama in an attack on his Democratic opponents when he actually meant to say Joe Biden . McCain’s attacks, which he refrained from in the morning but his campaign hyped for a later rally, were about Biden’s comments at a Sunday fund-raiser in Seattle. The Democratic vice-presidential candidate suggested that if Obama were elected, there would be an “international crisis” within his first six months in office to test the junior senator from Illinois. But instead of attributing those remarks to Biden, McCain cited Obama. “Just last night, Sen. Obama guaranteed — he guaranteed — that if Sen. Obama is elected,” McCain said, then realized his error and backtracked. “Sen. Biden said we will have an international crisis to test ... (link)
