Michelle Obama to Headline Hollywood Fund-Raisers

Susan Davis reports from St. Paul, Minn., on the presidential race. Michelle Obama is headed to Hollywood tonight to headline two fund-raisers for her husband’s presidential campaign. Actor Samuel L. Jackson and his wife, LaTanya , will host the fund-raiser at their home in Beverly Hills to benefit the Obama Victory Fund. Individuals are asked to donate $2,300 to attend, while those who give the maximum $25,000 contribution will get a special VIP reception with Mrs. Obama. Also tonight, she will attend a $1,000-minimum fund-raiser at the Los Angeles home of Bryan Lourd , a partner at Creative Artists Agency, a talent agency that boasts high-profile clients like George Clooney and Brad Pitt . Both actors are Obama supporters. Clooney recently hosted a duo of European fund-raisers with U.S. citizens living abroad to benefit the Illinois senator. They were expected to raise about $1 million for Obama, according to the Associated Press . (link)
