Sarah Palin answered the phone earlier Saturday to speak to French President Nicolas Sarkozy. But she didnt know that two well-known Canadian pranksters were on the other end of the line.
The Alaska governor was gracious throughout the call, even at the end of the six-minute long conversation when the callers told her she had been duped. Oh, have we been pranked? Palin said, before asking for the name of the Montreal radio station that had called her.
Palin laughed politely and didnt have any major embarassming moments, but the episode couldnt win points with her staff, who unwittingly patched through the call. The prank callers, Sebastien Trudel and Marc-Antoine Audette , have similarly duped French president Jacques Chirac and Microsoft founder Bill Gates .
The callers flattered Palin by telling her she had presidential prospects. Palin laughed coyly, and then said, Maybe in eight years.
