Obama Event Disrupted by Power Outage

 
Amy Chozick reports on the presidential race from Reno, Nevada. Power outage? Or vast right wing conspiracy? You decide. Barack Obama was in the middle of comparing John McCain ’s economic proposals to those of President Bush , when the electricity suddenly went out and the outdoor stadium filled with 11,000 rowdy supporters fell silent. “It’s time to turn the page on eight years of economic polices that put Wall Street before Main Street but ended up hurting both,” Obama said. “We need policies that grow our economy from the bottom up…” Silence. Obama stood awkwardly on the stage for a few minutes, spoke to an aide and then came off the stage and shook some hands before power was restored about five minutes later. When he got back on stage, he managed to weave the mishap into his economy-focused stump speech. “I told you folks were having problems making their electricity bill,” Obama said to laughter. “Either that, or somebody from the McCain campaign kicked our plug out of ...
