Obama names Tom Daschle to head healthcare overhaul

The president-elect says the economic downturn has made reform more crucial. Daschle will be nominated to be Health and Human Services secretary and to head a new White House Office of Health Reform. > Far from pulling back on his commitment to overhaul the nation's healthcare system, President-elect Barack Obama on Thursday said the economic downturn makes major changes more imperative, not less.
