Obama Responds to “Celebrity” Attacks

 
Amy Chozick reports on the presidential race. Barack Obama may be on vacation but his campaign isn’t taking a break. On Monday, the Obama campaign launched a new 30-second ad called “Embrace” that portrays rival John McCain as “Washington’s biggest celebrity” and shows footage of him and President Bush . “Embrace” is a response to a recent ad from the McCain campaign, “ Celeb ,” that compares Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears . The McCain ad claims his celebrity status does not qualify him to lead the country. The Obama campaign has now thrown the “celebrity” claim back at McCain linking him to Washington politics as usual. “For decades, he’s been Washington’s biggest celebrity. John McCain,” the new Obama ad says as McCain hugs Bush. “And as Washington embraced him, John McCain hugged right back.” “The lobbyists—running his low road campaign. The money—billions in tax breaks for oil and drug companies, but almost nothing for families like yours,” the narrator ... (link)
