Obama’s Criticism of McCain Hits Home(s)

 
Amy Chozick reports on the presidential race from Chester, Va. Armed with a more targeted focus on the economy, Barack Obama hit his Republican rival on Thursday for owning seven homes. “Yesterday, John McCain said the economy was fundamentally strong. This puzzled me,” Obama said at an outdoor town-hall meeting on the economy. He then told the small crowd about an interview McCain did on Wednesday during which he said he was not sure how many homes he owned. “’I’ll have to check with my staff,’ true quote. ‘I’m not sure, I’ll have to check with my staff.’ So he asked his staff and they said, ‘At least four.’ At least four. Now think about that, I guess if you think being rich is you have to make $5 million a year and you have to think about how many houses you have, then you might think the economy is fundamentally strong,” Obama said. “But if you’re like me and you’ve got one house, or you are like the millions of people who are struggling to keep up with their mortgage so ...
