Obama Ticket Hard to Get, Even for Colorado Residents

It’s the hottest ticket in Denver: a seat at INVESCO Field to see U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s historic acceptance of the Democratic nomination for President on Thursday night.
But getting a hand on the tickets have been challenging even for Colorado residents, who were guaranteed by the Democratic National Convention Committee more than half of the seats in the 76,000-seat plus stadium. The elaborate oversize tickets feature a picture of Obama and must be activated online.
“I think I must have signed up too late, but at least they told me I was on a wait list,” said Caleb Thomas Warren, a doctoral candidate in marketing at the University of Colorado.
Excitement for the speech has been building ever since it was announced that Obama, already in the midst of a historic campaign for the White House, would accept the Democratic nomination at INVESCO rather than at the smaller Pepsi Center where the rest of the convention ...
