Obama Treads Gently Accusing Palin of Opposing Equal Pay

 
TOLEDO, Ohio –Barack Obama seems to have only one problem with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican candidate for vice president: She holds the same positions as John McCain, the GOP presidential candidate who tapped her. That may seem like a “well, duh” observation on his part, but Obama has tiptoed carefully around Palin as he tries to attract female voters. So far he has criticized her only for her ties to McCain. On Sunday, the Democratic nominee seemed eager to blunt Palin’s possible appeal to undecided women, but again, indirectly. “We’re going to make sure that equal pay for equal work is a reality in this country,” Obama said at an economic forum in Toledo, Ohio, a battleground state this fall. Alluding to Palin without saying her name, he told about 200 people sitting on a sun-drenched office rooftop that she “seems like a very engaging person, nice person.
