OMG! Senate Fight Heats Up in North Carolina

Mary Lu Carnevale reports on the Senate race in North Carolina. All hell is breaking loose in the North Carolina Senate race. At the center of the firestorm is an ad Sen. Elizabeth Dole launched about a fund-raiser benefiting her challenger, Democrat Kay Hagan , held at the home of a leading atheist. Dole, the Republican incumbent, and Hagan, a state senator, have lobbed negative ads at each other for weeks . The latest Dole ad, apparently an effort to win back support from evangelical Christians, went up just before Hagan was scheduled to address the General Baptist State Convention this afternoon in Fayetteville. Now, Hagan is threatening to strike back with legal action if the ad isn’t yanked. The 30-second spot, which is airing statewide, opens with the line: “A leader of the Godless Americans PAC recently held a secret fund-raiser in Kay Hagan’s honor.” It concludes: “She hid from cameras, took godless money.
