If Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin accomplished one thing tonight, it was coming off as a comfortable and competent attack dog of Barack Obama .
Palin wound up slowly, touting her upbringing, her family, her baby recently born with Down syndrome. And then she mentioned her role as a hockey mom, quipping that the only thing different between a hockey mom and a pit bull — the hockey mom wears lipstick.
Under scrutiny for her thin resume, Palin repeatedly sought to keep the focus on Obama’s shortcomings.
