Nearly as many people watched Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin s speech Wednesday at the Republican convention as they did Barack Obama s speech in Denver last Thursday.
According to Nielsen Co. , 37.2 million people watched her speech, just 1.1 million fewer viewers short of Obamas record-breaking speech at Invesco Field. However, Obamas speech was carried on ten networks, while Palins was carried only on six.
Palin also drew about 11 million more viewers than the 26 million who tuned in to watch Hillary Clinton in Denver last Tueday.
Additionally, nearly 5 million more women tuned in Wednesday to watch Palin than they did for the previous nights convention program.
