(AP) The Republican vice presidential nominee has been under fire since Politico first reported last night on the Republican National Committee spending about $150,000 on clothing and accessories for Palin and her family since John McCain tapped her as his running mate in early September. The bills include nearly $50,000 at Saks Fifth Avenue, $75,000 at Neiman Marcus, $5,000 on hair and make-up expenses, as well as disbursements to other high-end department stores including Barney’s New York, Bloomingdale’s, and Macy’s. The purchases also extended to the Palin clan, with $196 spent on an outfit for Palin’s infant son Trig, and nearly $5,000 at a high-end men’s clothing boutique. “With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it’s remarkable that we’re spending ...
