Political Perceptions: Barack and Hillary, Together Again?

Various reports suggest Sen. Hillary Clinton is under serious consideration to become President-elect Barack Obama’s secretary of state. Politico’s Mike Allen writes that “several Obama transition advisers are strongly advocating” Clinton for the post, “a move that would create the ultimate ‘Team of Rivals’ cabinet.” Some advisers consider Clinton “the favorite,” Allen writes. “It is not known what Obama himself thinks of the idea. But the fact that it is being entertained within his camp shows how much things have changed in the months since he defeated her for the Democratic nomination in a protracted primary marathon.” Allen adds, though: “Even officials who like the idea held up strong ‘caution’ flags.” Yael Goldstein Love and Danielle Blau , writing for The Atlantic, offer a tour through Appalachia as they saw it as Obama supporters working there.
