From NBC's John YangPresident Bush is not going to St. Paul, because "it's appropriate that the President be here at the White House" in light of the ongoing situation from Hurricane Gustav and the other storms churning in the Atlantic, White House press secretary Dana Perino told reporters at a briefing today. She added that Bush wants to be sure "the follow-through" is as good as the preparation.
