House Republicans uphill fight to stave off a wave of Democratic victories on Nov. 4 got a bit tougher Thursday when the head of a major social conservative organization publicly chastised the head of the House Republicans campaign operation for cutting off resources to two embattled social conservatives.
You have made a grave error in judgment by pulling your funds from the Michelle Bachmann race in Minnesota and the Marilyn Musgrave race in Colorado, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins wrote in a letter to National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Cole of Oklahoma.
Perkins lauded both women as true conservatives in winnable districts, and said as a result of the NRCCs decision, he is urging FRCs political action committee to withhold political contributions to the campaign operation until it starts supporting and fighting for conservative candidates in close races.
