RNC: My Funny Valentine’s

 
Susan Davis reports on politics. The Republican National Committee is once again using Valentine’s Day as a playful way to dig at Democrats. Last year—in the thick of the Democratic primary fight—the RNC took jabs at rivals Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton . Now, they are poking fun at congressional Democrats and the Obama administration, including early foibles in the nomination process. “Free next Thursday?…I am,” reads one e-card featuring a smiling Tom Daschle , who withdrew his nomination for health and human services secretary after personal tax problems were revealed. “This Valentine’s card hasn’t been fully vetted,” reads another with a picture of the president smiling. Another features former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich with text that reads, “Aw shucks, did you say ‘I’m a peach’?” The governor was impeached last month following his arrest on corruption charges, although he says he committed to wrong-doing.
