Romney Eyes 2012 Run

 
Susan Davis reports on politics. The 2008 presidential campaign may not be the last we hear from former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney , who was defeated by John McCain in the Republican presidential primary earlier this year. The Boston Globe reported today that Romney has taken steps to indicate he is laying the groundwork for a potential 2012 bid by hiring consultants and staff through a political action committee he started to aid other Republican candidates. Romney has raised $2.1 million for his Free and Strong America political action committee, but only about one-tenth of the funds have gone to Republican candidates so far. According to a Globe review of his expenditures, more of the funds have gone to pay for salaries and consulting fees to many of Romney’s long-time political aides.
