Senate approves softened "Buy American" plan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to soften down a "Buy American" plan as part of its nearly $900 billion economic stimulus bill, after President Barack Obama expressed concern the original language could lead to a trade war.
