Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is a life-long Republican, but her husband, Todd , is not. Amid false reports that the governor had left the Republican Party briefly in the 1990s for the Alaskan Independence Party, John McCain s campaign released today Palins voting registration records as proof of party loyalty.
The Associated Press reported the director of Alaskas Division of Elections confirmed the governors registrationshe has been a Republican since 1982. However, her husband twice registered in 1995 and 2000 with the Alaskan Independence Party, a states rights group.
Since 2002 Todd Palin has been undeclared with a political party.
Tidbits both large and small about the Palin family continued to trickle out today in media coverage of the little known Alaskan governor who will formally join McCain on the ticket this week.
