Washington Governor Squeaks By in Rematch Of 2004 Race; Democrats to Control 29 States

 
Chris Gregoire retained her job as Washington's governor yesterday, handing a seventh statehouse victory to Democrats and averting a protracted recount, such as the one four years ago, that threatened to distract state leaders for weeks. (link)
