Incoming First Lady Michelle Obama is enjoying some of her high favorability ratings to date according to the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Wednesday. (For the full take on the poll, read this story in todays WSJ.)
Nearly one-third, 31%, of respondents said they had a very positive view of Obama, while an additional 23% said they had a somewhat positive view. Just 15% of respondents held a negative view, while nearly one quarter, 24%, said they were neutral on the next first lady.
The 31% figure is a high for Obama in the WSJ/NBC News poll, with her previous high at 21% in early September. The number of voters who held a negative view of Obama has been cut in half since the September poll’s 31%.
Further, the vast majority, 69%, of respondents said that Obama is a positive role model for American women, a higher figure than former First Lady and New York Sen. Hillary Clinton ever received. Clinton peaked at 66% in ...
