A majority of Americans are in opposition to two of President Barack Obama s major recent decisions. Just over half, 52%, said they oppose the presidents ordered closure of the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Nearly four in ten, 39%, support it.
Even more respondents, 56%, said they oppose the federal governments financial intervention at General Motors while 35% support it.
There is also notable opposition, 41%, to Obamas ban on enhanced interrogation tactics, including waterboarding, to question alleged terrorists. However, more respondents, 48%, favor the ban.
