Workers' comp reaction
My main problem with Marsha Ryan at BWC is that she has left too many Republican appointees in middle management positions at the agency. They are the same persons who either participated in the infamous corruption of a few years ago or else kept silent when they saw it going on. Marc Dann had ...

The mistake some Dems make
is thinking that we always need to be on Defense rather than Offense. JBRU sees this and this is why she is running for Senate. She is the best candidate for that job. We need a true progressive in that seat. The SOS is an important seat for sure - but it is an administrative one. She did ...

I am so disappointed in this post
I can't believe you of all people called it nonsense. I met you during the '06 campaign and had great respect for you. You were one of the few along with Jennifer and Sherrod that I felt very strongly about as candidates. I applaud Jennifer Brunner's campaign on this. She is talking about ...

Women's Forums
Bill, your fundamental mistake is assuming that all Democrats have the same position on every issue and that they place the same emphasis on those issues that you do. There is a difference between dividing people and recognizing that there are unique challenges that are presented to an ...

No It Just Means I Don't Feel Welcome at "Women's Forums"
Please understand, Jennifer is my friend, and I am proud to call her my Secretary of State. She has brought a breath of fresh air to that stale office. But I disagree with throwing that office to the wolves, and I definitely disagree with the politics of division which is implied by a ...

Open Invite Event
Bill, the event was open to both men and women. There was no exclusion at all. The fact is, men just didn't show up. "And now, my friend Jennifer, has decided to create an issue where there is none." Does that mean you would've voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act?
BeltwayBlips: vote it up!

Really
I don't *remember* using the word viable. It does, however, make them a candidate subject to filing petitions. Candidates file and run all the time without being "viable".

Reaction to Latest
ytownboy3 states that it is only because of the respect he has for Jennifer Brunner that makes it a sad spectacle to watch her play herself out of public service, something for which she is otherwise suited. While BSB projects that her ascendency to the world's greatest deliberative body, if it ...

I Just Don't Get It Girls
Let's get this off on the right foot here. I am a boy. My dad was a boy as well. So are my sons Shawn and Brandon. My sisters, mother and daughters are all girls. Always have been. And we are all Democrats. And I for one remain DEEPLY OFFENDED by the politics of division which these gender based ...

Wow, really?
Did you miss the obvious attempt to dig for more information? Just because they file a deceleration of treasurer doesn't automatically make them a viable candidate.
BeltwayBlips: vote it up!

You See ...
People actually "file" a Designation of Treasurer (form 30D) for races with the Secretary of State. Turns out she has a website and everything.
BeltwayBlips: vote it up!

Who?
I haven't heard of anybody filing, but I've mostly been looking for people with regional support.
BeltwayBlips: vote it up!

Ummm
Except for the person who actually filed for the race.

Huh ...
Hopefully THIS one will actually raise some money and run for the seat.

No debate on prison reforms?
No debate on prison reforms? First, it's reform on prison AND criminal justice issues. Second, those same reforms were introduced in the Senate & passed out of committee after multiple hearings. Want to know what's holding up those reforms? Call Armond Budish's office & ask him. He ...

we shouldn't let Afghanistan fall back into tyranny and murder. assuming you're old enough, where were you when the united states was arming the tyrannical murderers (religious nutjobs) against najibullah's socialist government and the soviet army they invited in? something often forgotten is ...

Slippery slope much?
If you want to paint a picture of imminent American domination of Asia you're a few years late. The reason why we should stay in Afghanistan and continue to build schools and help in safety is because if we don't we're simply creating the next generation suicide bombers. The reason groups like ...

the Pottery Barn rule?
So you're saying we broke Afghanistan, Ryan, and so now we need to buy it? How exactly do you propose we do that? And how much do you think it's going to cost? By your own assertion the people were already living in huts and caves. Do you propose that we build them all houses and give them ...

I find this post to be wrong
I find this post to be wrong on so many levels. Frankly, I think you're misunderstanding the conflict in Afghanistan. Your comments about "pragmatic, community-oriented strategies" seems to miss the point that most people in Afghanistan live in huts and caves. I'm sure they'd love a ...

Afghanistan Mess Brewing
