Michael Steele is about to learn the hard way

"Nazi Germany"??

Washington insiders are bathed in moderate and liberal group-think. Any idea outside the liberal mainstream
is branded as mean, hateful, and base. So Republican leaders find themselves saying,"I'm not a racist! I'm not
dispassionate! I care! I do!" And then, they go about working on crap legislation to make it somewhat better. These
disgusting half-measures make Republicans look weak and confused ideologically.

... because it helps the conservative cause.
The media only controls the public discourse because there are few if any conservative Republicans with the intelligence and courage to sound like conservatives when they get in the spotlight. They're more interested in sounding like some combination of Mother Theresa and Ghandi. I'd add Jesus, but we know how they'd cringe at that comparison - religious and Christian being strictly taboo in their media guidebooks.

Limbaugh - Steele Cage Match

... would be honored if the drive-by media headlined me all day long: ‘Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.’ Somebody’s gotta say it.” That’s mildly entertaining, in a red meat to the party faithful sort of way. It’s “incendiary” and “ugly,” though, only if taken out of context. Of course he wants Obama to fail at imposing policies he disagrees with. That’s a far different thing than, for example, hoping the economy continues to tank to make it easier for Republicans to win seats in 2010. Michelle Malkin isn’t happy. I’m mostly befuddled. John Boehner-- The Reformer?

... (CA)... and, predictably John Boehner (OH) and his extremist whip Eric Cantor (VA)-- 152 shameless leeches on the body politic in all. And now they want to distort the record and make Rush Limbaugh listeners think they're reformers. Why bother when everyone who cares about reform and corruption already knows exactly what they are? So not just a bunch of Nazis (which even Michael Steele agreed is the case) but as corrupt as the day is long!
Rush War Update
The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan —
It's a full-scale clusterfuck. Enjoy. Powerline: Apparently, like Rush's liberal critics, Steele has never actually
listened to Rush. Otherwise, it would never occur to him to call Rush's
program "ugly." Malkin: Played right into the Left’s hands. Congratulations. This will do wonders for party fund-raising efforts…on the other side Flopping Aces:

... Party has turned into the Rush Limbaugh Party.” Steele told CNN host D.L. Hughley in an interview aired Saturday night: “Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh — his whole thing is entertainment. He has this incendiary — yes, it's ugly.” Steele, who won a hard-fought chairman's race on Jan. 30, told Politico he telephoned Limbaugh after his show on Monday afternoon and hoped that they would connect soon. Good Move by Michael Steele. Michelle Malkin and Power Line have more on the spat.

... down the pike. If Steele wants to lead the GOP , get out front and lead then. Don’t pull rank on Limbaugh because you only magnify his importance – at your expense. If you spent less time on talk shows agreeing with Democrats who are savaging the party you are supposed to be leading and more time, like, you know, actually opposing what they are trying to do , that would prove your qualities to conservatives who are feeling a little put out by being told that their party convention resembled a Nazi gathering. The country is going to hell in a handbasket economically, the ...

It said the United States would not need to proceed with the interceptor system, which has been vehemently opposed by Russia since it was proposed by the Bush administration, if Iran halted any efforts to build nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles. A lot of readers sent me a link to Michelle’s post on Steele, Hughley, and the Nazis.
Good Lord did Steele really botch this interview. I thought he was an articulate spokesman.
Hughley tells Steele the Republican Convention looked like a Nazi party gathering in Germany.
Steele’s response? Well, here’s the unedited transcript from CNN covering that portion of the interview:
HUGHLEY: Well, Michael, I agree. I’m telling you, if it were the sign alone — in other words, the tenets of the ...
