Michael Wolff: Geithner, the Last Yuppie, Is Out of Business
Politics on HuffingtonPost.com —
... young upwardly mobile professionals, take it as an article of faith that in order to get people to work you have to pay them; and, too, the more you pay, the better people you get to do the work; and better people do better work. That pretty much sums up the philosophy of compensation and corporate organization over the long course, and during the massive economic expansion, of the yuppie generation.
What is most shocking, although it shouldn't be, is to suddenly find, in the melee over the AIG bonuses, that Barack Obama is a yuppie. Really, who knew? And yet the ...

Re: I guess it's official
The Corner on National Review Online —
... At this stage in 1977, even Jimmy Carter wasn't Jimmy Carter. But, 30 days in, the horror of what they'd wrought began to dawn on Brooks, Buckley and the Obamacons. And, after a mere 60, the A-list libs are starting to figure it out, too. Mr Wolff continues: The hurt defensiveness (and bad script for it) that everybody in Washington "is Simon Cowell Everybody's got an opinion," is pure I m-in-over-my-head stuff. Even the idea of having to go on Jay Leno to rescue yourself from the AIG mess is lame. Be a man, man... This guy is leaden and this show is in trouble. Maybe it ...

Michael Wolff: Bonus Rage: Lame-o Lefties Lose Again
Politics on HuffingtonPost.com —
The bonus revolt is going to peter out. The Senate is going to let the bonus tax die--cooler heads have prevailed. In New York, the state attorney general, Andrew Cuomo, has persuaded nine of the top 10 bonus babies, all of them mightily rich, to give back the dough--meaning everybody will claim victory and shortly get on about their business.
For better or worse, mob anger, when coming from the left, is pretty lame. The economic world as we know it may be ending, but the left can't summon the kind of furies that got us into Iraq, declared war on ...
