McCain on the Verge of Losing Home State, Would Lose Senate Seat in 2010
Open Left - Front Page —
Markos has the remarkable stats. I happen to really like Governor Janet Napolitano of Arizona, and if the environment is neutral, she can take McCain out. That McCain is on the verge of losing his home state is remarkable. Gore lost Tennessee, but that was a very Southern state voting against a Democrat. In this case, Arizona is a pretty solid Republican state and it's on the verge of leaving the McCain column.
Wow. Let's build that progressive governing majority.

Over at the Politico, they've mentioned Congressman Earl Blumenauer as a potential Secretary of Transportation.
They've also mentioned John Kitzhaber as a potential nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services. Personally, I think he should be Surgeon General. HHS is just a mega-bureaucrat. The Surgeon General is supposed to be America's health advocate - talking to Americans about the greatest threats to their health... cigarettes, AIDS, obesity, etc. Seems to me, the greatest threat right now is our health insurance system - and Kitzhaber would be a great advocate for reform.
