... I was able to catch what seems to me to be the most underreported story of day one, Jim Leach’s GOP defection speech.
For what its worth, this speech codifies what has been a slow slide into madness for the GOP. It clearly shows that the mainstream of the Republican party, held together with tooth picks and bubble gum today by the likes of Arlen Specter, and Olympia Snowe - is dead.
I don’t care how they try to spin it, today’s GOP has decided to let the nuts run the nuthouse.
