I mean, of course Johnny Walker Lindh -- the American Taliban -- was a traitor and any lawyer who believed there's anything admirable about a guy who leaves the greatest country on Earth (note to liberals: that would be America ) to go fight to help one of the most repressive governments on Earth (note to liberals: that would be the Taliban ) would have to be either a first class America hater or the poster child of moral equivocation. Another key bit of info left out of these announcements was that Tony West raised $65 million for Obama's presidential campaign. Money well spent if it gets a cushy government job, I suppose.

Even most lawyers wouldn't have the stomach to defend scum like Lindh. But San Francisco's Tony West was up for the job. He even got prosecutors to drop a restriction on Lindh's foreign travel, so that he could go visit Muslims' magic meteor in Mecca.
