It is to Reid's credit that he is trying, with skill and honor, to find a solution to the Burris mess. Yet it is puzzling and confounding that while he is taking on the controversy surrounding Burris, the Senate leader appears to be punting the other major showdown in the Senate: seating Al Franken.
