House GOP to Obama: Go Eff Yourself
Booman Tribune —
Not a single Republican in the House voted for the stimulus package. And guess what? No one gives a crap what the House Republicans think. They wanted to prove that they could hold their caucus together but that means nothing unless they can bring Blue Dogs along with them. Only eleven Democrats defected on this vote. Rush Limbaugh hopes Obama fails, and now the entire House GOP is forced to hope for the same.

... Now Obama can go to the American people and say, "I tried." I tried to go the extra mile, tried to make compromises to get a bill, tried to be bipartisan within the context of an election which Democrats won. And what did I get? Literally, nothing. Not one Republican vote. Not one. They resurrected the 1993 playbook when the Democrats had to rescue the economy from the first George Bush without one Republican vote and lost Congress as a result. ...

... earlier, but this is such good news, it deserves two posts). The House of Representatives approved an $819 billion economic stimulus package Wednesday, dealing the new Obama administration a legislative victory but also giving Republicans a chance to show their resolve as the opposition party. The final vote was 244-188, mostly along party lines. All Republicans who were present voted against the bill. They were joined in their opposition by 11 Democrats. Here is the official roll call, if you're interested. This bill will be horrible for the United States. And yes, it ...

... which he wanted to be included in the stimulus. Instead, Obama agreed two weeks in advance of the stimulus vote to convene such a summit in February, and I said Obama should have waited to see that Cooper and the Blue Dogs pony up on the stimulus before agreeing.
Well, Obama didn't wait, and Cooper (and five other Blue Dogs) didn't show. What a surprise.
There's still time to disinvite them, of course. Think that'll happen?
Jim Cooper voted against the stimulus plan.

HR-1 Stimulus Package - Voted NO His YES votes on these bills include such things as Government funded health insurance for illegal aliens, frivolous lawsuits, tax increases, more debt and more bailout money to be misused. Tell me again how it’s better to have someone just because they have an ® next to their name. He is as Liberal as you can get and still pass yourself off as a Republican. These votes are nothing, we haven’t even gotten to the good stuff yet that he supports the liberal agenda on. -- ...
Mitchell Bard: Republicans in the House Are Behaving Like the Collapse of Bush's Policies Never Happened
Politics on HuffingtonPost.com —
... And despite all of this information, not one single Republican member of the House voted for the stimulus bill yesterday. (It still passed, 244-188, with 11 Democrats joining the 177 Republicans in opposing the bill.) Not one. Zero. Zippo. Nada. Nil. None. There wasn't one Republican in the whole House of Representatives who could see his or her way clear to support legislation to help our tanking economy, even if they thought the bill wasn't perfect. And what was the primary objection of the Republicans, based on the GOP's suggested alternative bill ( ...

... Primary Challenges: It is simple and classic, but it still works. Already, at least two of the House Democrats who voted against the stimulus package are likely to face serious primary challenges in 2010: Alan Boyd (FL-02) and Paul Kanjorski (PA-14). Showing early, and strong, support for their primary challengers will not only have an impact on how Boyd and Kanjorski behave, but will also be likely to put other Democrats who act against the leadership and the administration on notice. ...
