Crazy Rumor of the Day: Does Google Want to Merge With the New York Times?
Megan McArdle — Did someone CNBC really suggest that the New York Times might be a takeover target for Google?  That seems entirely crazy.  Forget whether such a merger would make sense; the New York Times cannot be sold without the approval of the Sulzberger family, which seems unlikely to emerge unless things get quite a bit more dire.
