TPMMuckraker —
... it was "amateur hour" at the CIA.
That's according to a summary of the FBI's interview with Cheney, which was conducted as part of Pat Fitzgerald's investigation of the leak of Valerie Plame's name. The document was just released by the Justice Department, thanks to a lawsuit by CREW. In his interview with the FBI, conducted in May 2004, Cheney frequently claimed to be unable to remember key details from the Plame episode.

Cheney Wanted McClellan To Exonerate Libby As Well As Rove
TPMMuckraker —
Dick Cheney told FBI investigators he wasn't happy when Scott McClelllan, then the White House press secretary, publicly told reporters that Karl Rove wasn't the source of the Plame leak.
From the just-released documents:
The Vice President was not happy about it, as it appeared that the White House press office was putting down markers for some individuals and not for others. Specifically, Vice President Cheney believed that fairness dictated that similar disqualifying statements should be made to the media on behalf of Libby and Elliot Abrams ...

The Atlantic Politics Channel —
... Cheney's interview with the FBI from the Valerie Plame investigation thanks to the folks over at Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington (CREW). I've just taken a quick glance at the documents, but already it's interesting, if not shocking. Cheney describes the situation at the CIA as "amateur hour," not only for its dispatch of Joe Wilson to Niger but also for its handling of the Iraqi intelligence. It'll take awhile to comb through all this but feel free to get started here and tell us what you think. For what it's worth there's only a passing reference to me and ...

... Now that Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Government (CREW) has won its lawsuit against the Department of Justice, it has “received documents related to former Vice President Dick Cheney’s interview with the FBI in the investigation into the leak of Valerie Plame Wilson’s covert CIA identity.” The AP, as you can guess, ever eager to report a story that could be spun against that good Republican is all over it. Writer Pete Yost “ ...

The site seems to be down at the moment, but when it is back up, that URL should work. In the meantime, you can see for yourself just what kind of person Dick Cheney is at the links below, just a small round-up: Marcy Wheeler is already all over it ...
