Why I Blog
Debbie Dantz worked at an Applebees, a job she desperately needed to take care of her two teenage daughters and a terminally ill father. It was not a high paying job, but because Dantz couldn't afford a car or even a bed to sleep on, she needed work within walking distance of her home and the Applebees fit the bill.
So when Dantz' boss made a pass at her, she didn't quit because she needed the money. She stuck with the job as her manager's ...

Politics on HuffingtonPost.com —
Noted global warming denier James Inhofe, who once insisted that the United States base its foreign policy on the book of Genesis, announced on the Senate floor yesterday that he will filibuster the nomination of Judge David Hamilton to the Seventh Circuit. Judge Hamilton, a highly regarded district judge whose nomination received enthusiastic support from Hamilton's homestate Republican Senator Richard Lugar, is President Obama's first nominee to the federal bench.
Inhofe says he will filibuster Judge Hamilton because Hamilton's enforcement of the Establishment Clause offends Inhofe's ...

"Without access to lawyers, the law doesn't apply to you." - Ian Millhiser
I've flown business class a couple times, it was nice.
You get to board the plane early, have a comfortable seat, enjoy free drinks. Nice. And it's fine, they pay extra for that. The airlines make a reasonable calculation about how much they're owed for providing those services and they get compensated.
Yet when it comes to dealing with the rest of society, their workers, customers and government, business interests always want to dispute the bill for services rendered. ...
