According to Huffington Post, NBC News plans to name David Gregory as moderator of Meet the Press. However, the New York Observer says Gregory's agent wouldn't confirm or deny the reports and the New York Times reports NBC executives said "that no announcement of the

I've heard within the network that NBC higher-ups think the leak came out of the Washington bureau, and today Page six reports that at least one insider believes it was NBC political director Chuck Todd -- who was passed up for the job. Another insider doesn't buy it.
NBC executives, at least on background, are pushing the idea that because David Gregory's name leaked out as "Meet the Press" host, it could complicate the deal.
