A TEPID BUT REALISTIC DEFENSE OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IN THE AIG MATTER
Right Wing Nut House —
... looking at this AIG matter carefully, I think some of my friends on the right have gone too far in their criticism of the Administration. The higher echelons of the Obama Administration have demonstrated a tone deafness regarding public sensibilities not seen since perhaps the Carter Administration. It’s not just the AIG matter but also their incomprehensible plan to force military personnel to have private insurers pay for their disabilities and war wounds and now, this idea to let loose upon the populace people who have been accused of supporting terrorism and who have ...

The idea of releasing Gitmo prisoners in the US is such a political nonstarter, I am shocked that the Attorney General of the United States let the mere suggestion escape his lips publicly . If President Obama thinks the mess he finds himself in with respect to AIG is bad, wait until he sees the size of the populist prarie fire he'll create by doing something this politically tone deaf.

Moonbattery —
This is why it generally isn't very wise to turn control of the country over to people who hate it:
Attorney General Eric Holder said some detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may end up being released in the U.S. as the Obama administration works with foreign allies to resettle some of the prisoners.
Mr. Holder, in a briefing with reporters, said administration officials are still reviewing individual cases of the approximately 250 detainees to determine which will be put on trial and which may be released ...

... of the Obamateur. What this fool does not realize is that by refusing to call terrorism by its proper name, she makes it implicitly less serious. By refusing to call it an attempt to use terror to achieve the political and religious ends of the Islamist horde, she minimizes its importance and significance. But then again, this ranks right up there with the dropping of the term "enemy combatant" -- presumably to be replaced by some more neutral term like "undocumented adversary" or " future Democrat voter ".
Alcee Hastings’ Amendment Prevents ‘Hate Groups’ in Armed Services, But Who Determines ‘Hate’?

... — you know, cuz no one else will — one has to wonder exactly who it is that will determine what a “hate” group is in order to keep the armed forces free of “hate-related violence”? It turns out Hastings has given this power to the office of the Attorney General of the United States. That would be Eric Holder, the guy that wants to release Guantanamo terrorists into the interior of the country . It is also a bit frightening to imagine that the government that issued that now infamous report calling anyone that votes Republican and has an appreciation for the Constitution a ...
